So after seeing tons of teepee tutorials on Pinterest and around the internet, I knew I had to make one for Levi! The only problem is, I didn’t have the time or care to sew all of the fabric together. So I came up with a way to do it that is relatvely simple and requires NO sewing at all!
You will need:
- (6) 1 x 2 x 8s
- hand drill
- thin rope
- assortment of fabric (I used old tapestries I already had)
- glue (I used Elmer’s wood glue)
1. Drill a hole into each piece of wood about 12″ down
2. Arrange the pieces of wood in the “teepee position” and string rope through each hole.
3. Finish by wrapping the rope around multiple times to make sure it is secure.
4. Start with smaller strips of fabric and start wrapping around the wood. Use the glue to secure.
5. Start using bigger pieces of fabric and continue wrapping the fabric around the wood until you get to the bottom.
6. Finish with a big comfy blanket and some pillows!
* I tried a couple of different methods: Over and Under and just wrapping over top. Either is fine *
* Make sure in the front you only go partially down with the fabric so that it is left open *
And that’s it! Now Levi has a place where he can lounge around, read books and relax. It is such a fun thing to make for your kids (or yourself!) and I am happy to say that Levi LOVES his teepee!
